Meet Rayneika Robinson
About Rayneika
I am not a career politician. I am a lifelong Marylander shaped by real-life experiences that many families in our community live every day.
I have experienced homelessness. I have seen firsthand how substance use can impact a household through my father’s addiction. I have relied on state-funded health insurance and live with a learning disability. These experiences did not define my limits; they shaped my purpose. They taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of systems that work for people, not around them.
First-Generation Success
I grew up in Harford County, Maryland, and graduated from Harford Technical High School. I began my college journey at Harford Community College and went on to earn my bachelor’s degree from Coppin State University, becoming a first-generation college graduate. Education was not always easy for me, but persistence mattered, and I am proof that access, support, and determination can change lives.
My first apartment was a subsidized home, an experience that showed me how critical stable housing and supportive programs are for people working to build independence and move forward. In 2021, I proudly bought my first home in Essex. This community is not just where I campaign; it is where I live, invest, and call home.
A Career in Public Service
For the past ten years, I have served the people of Maryland through my work with the State. I began my career as a Case Management Specialist with the Department of Juvenile Services, assigned to the Community Supervision Unit. In 2019, I transitioned to Adult Parole and Probation, continuing my commitment to accountability, second chances, and community safety. I believe deeply that people are more than their worst moments.
Labor Advocacy Leadership
I am honored to serve working people as the President of AFSCME Local 3661 and as a Unit Vice President for AFSCME Maryland. I proudly stand with workers, support collective bargaining, and believe labor voices belong at every decision-making table. In October 2025, I was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Correctional Training Commission, further reinforcing my commitment to accountability and safety.
I am also a proud graduate of the Emerge Candidate Program, which strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to running thoughtful, people-centered campaigns grounded in equity and real-world solutions.
My Vision for District 6
I love my family. They are my foundation, my motivation, and the reason I fight so hard for policies that support families in real life. I am running because leadership should reflect the people it serves. I believe in strong public schools and protecting the teachers and support staff who keep them running. I believe in fair wages, worker protections, safe neighborhoods, and stable housing. I believe in accountability.
This campaign is about us. About building a future where families can thrive, voices are heard, and leadership is grounded in honesty, empathy, and action. I am proud of where I come from, and I am committed to moving District 6 forward together.
